  • Remain on crosswalks and sidewalks, and be mindful of traffic.

Late Arrivals

Elementary students are late at 8:16 a.m. and Primary students are late at 8:31 a.m. We expect students to be on time. Being late to class can impact student performance in school. We are legally required to record when students are late and report it to the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). For every three unexcused late arrivals, students will be marked as having been absent for one day of school.

Late students must be signed in by a parent or guardian even if they have an unescorted waiver on file. You must park your car and check in your student at the front desk. If your child arrives late and you do not sign them in, your child will be counted as absent that day (Your signature is our only way to make the change in the record).

Unescorted Student Waiver for Upper Elementary Students

4th and 5th-grade parents may submit an Unescorted Student Waiver Form (available at lambpcs.org/forms). Completing this form allows a student to enter and leave the school without an authorized adult. Students with signed waivers must:

Arrival

  • Arrive from 8:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Students may not enter the school before 8:00 a.m. Students arriving before 8:00 a.m. will lose the privilege of entering alone.

  • Enter through the orange door.

  • Arrive on time. Students who arrive late (after 8:15 a.m.) must arrive with their parent/guardian. They must enter through the green door and their parent/guardian must sign the tardy list. After 8:15 a.m., a student cannot self-check-in. If a student arrives alone, their parents/guardians will be called and will need to come to the school in order for their child to enter the school.

Dismissal

  • Leave through the green door signing themselves out at the front desk.

  • Leave LAMB’s property immediately once they sign themselves out at 3:15 p.m.  (they cannot stay in the building or grounds). If a student signs themselves out but stays on school property, you, their parent/guardian, would pay a $25 fee. If the student stays on school property after signing themselves out twice, they will no longer be allowed to sign themselves in or out. You will have to sign them in and out.

If a student does not demonstrate the ability to self-manage in the hallways, school building, and school grounds during unescorted sign-in and sign-out, this privilege may be revoked, and a parent will be required to provide an adult to sign-in and sign-out for the student each day.

Dismissal

Dismissal Times

  • Primary students are dismissed at 3:00 p.m.

  • Elementary students are dismissed at 3:15 p.m.

Dismissal Procedures

We follow a similar procedure to what we use during arrival. The only difference is that we use PikMyKid, a dismissal app, to sign students out. This app allows you to be in full control of your child’s dismissal and it gives us, the school, complete information regarding dismissal, the ability to acknowledge every change and to instantly check your child’s dismissal status should there be any doubts. You will receive instructions on how to register and use PikMyKid at the start of the school year.

Dismissal Procedures for Each Level

While all families will use PikMyKid, the process you use will depend on whether you pick up your child during regular dismissal or BASE and their level.

For Regular Primary Dismissal and BASE (any level):

  1. Walk to your assigned pick-up door.

  2. Open the PikMyKid app.

  3. Click the announce button.

  4. Wait for your child to come out.

For Regular Elementary Dismissal:

At the beginning of the school year, all Elementary families receive a car tag for PickMyKid. This tag has your child's PikMyKid number and should be displayed during dismissal.

  • If you drive

    • Place the provided car tag by your windshield. (No need to announce)

    • Drive to your designated pick-up door.

    • Wait in line until a staff member brings your child to your car.

  • If you walk

    • Please walk to your assigned pick-up door and announce your arrival using the app.

    • Wait for your child to come out.

Students are not permitted to play in the parking lot, playground, fields, and other areas once they are picked up.

Signing Students Out

Most students may not leave the school unless they are picked up by an authorized person who is 18 or older and is listed on the student’s pick-up list or has been granted permission via PikMyKid to pick up the student.

Upper Elementary students who have an Unescorted Waiver Form on file and have younger siblings may sign themselves out, but may not sign out a younger sibling. The form can be found at lambpcs.org/forms. These students may not stay on LAMB property after signing out. They must leave the premises immediately, including the building, playground, and parking lot. If a student signs themselves out but stays on school property, you, their parent/guardian, would pay a $25 fee. If the student stays on school property after signing themselves out twice, they will no longer be allowed to sign themselves in or out. You will have to sign them in and out.

In an emergency: You must delegate pick-up rights via PikMyKid or email the front desk with the name of another adult (18 or over) whom you have authorized to pick up your child. This person must show identification before they can take your child off school property.

Early Dismissal

If your child has a medical or dental appointment during school hours, you must arrange an early dismissal for them by notifying their teachers and the front desk (frontdesk@lambpcs.org) before the day of their early dismissal. You must make the early dismissal request and sign the student out from the front desk.

The front desk does not process early dismissals between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. without previous notification. If the front desk doesn’t receive prior early dismissal notification for your child, you must wait until regular dismissal hours to pick up your child. If you have a doctor’s appointment, please notify the front desk 24 hours early.

LAMB does not accept returning students after 1:00 p.m. under any circumstance. This includes BASE participation, after-school activities, and SPED services. If you would like to return your child to school after an early dismissal, you must sign them in at the front desk before 1:00 p.m.

Late Pick-Up

Pick up your child on time at 3:00 p.m. if they are in Primary or 3:15 p.m. if they are in Elementary. If you don’t pick your child up on time, you will need to pay a $25 fee.
